BW Alumni Reunion celebrates YJ4L spirit

This past weekend was a Brown & Gold extravaganza of fun, friendship and great food that was an opportunity for alumni to reconnect and remember their cherished alma mater and celebrate the Classes of 1974, 1989, 1999 and 2014.

The 2024 Alumni Reunion was a showcase of activities that included walking tours, food trucks, lawn games, live music and a capstone Gala Reunion Dinner that was a memorable soiree of dancing, dining and entertainment. Picture-perfect weather made the festivities special for the 200+ guests attending the event.

Also special in the days leading up to the all-alumni reunion on May 18 were the Alumni Merit Awards Celebration on May 16, where eight accomplished alumni were honored, and events on May 17 recognizing the Classes of 1974, 1989, 1999 and 2014 that included campus tours, welcome reception and dinner.

"It is always wonderful to have our cherished alumni return to campus," said Madeline Wallace '16, director of alumni engagement. "The energy, spirit and joy they bring are a reminder that being a YJ4L is a lifelong connection to a place and to people who are special and care about us.

"Hearing alumni talk about their days at BW is a reminder of the interconnectedness of BW among generations. The student ambassadors who assist during Reunion Weekend so enjoy being with alumni, and our alumni see themselves through the eyes of the students and recall their days at BW," she went on to say.

"Alumni Reunion Weekend is a time to celebrate alumni, as well as the history of BW and the people who have made it extraordinary. We always say how it is like family returning home. The excitement, energy and opportunity to share cherished memories and create new ones is at the heart of this weekend," emphasized Wallace.
