A BW sport management tradition, the week leading up to the big game was a blend of working the high-profile Super Bowl LIV activities, which included the Pro Football Hall of Fame Finalist Reception with current finalists in attendance, and meeting with other big-league sports organizations in the host city.
In Miami, that included a tour and Q&A session with Miami Heat staffers, who lit up the American Airlines Arena with BW logos, and a behind-the-scenes excursion to the University of Miami's athletics facilities.
"Our students get the chance to experience Super Bowl week and game day from behind the scenes and to gain an understanding of what it takes to plan, organize and execute a true sports spectacle," said professor Charles Campisi, who heads up BW's Sport, Hospitality and Tourism Management Program for the School of Business.
Students and faculty are already looking forward to 2021 when Super Bowl LV takes center stage in Tampa.
