Baldwin Wallace University will bring accomplished "Voices of Imagination and Innovation" to campus as part of a 2018-19 cultural series inspired by creative leaders who enlighten thinking and transform the world around us.
Fall "Voices" events include an appearance by award-winning actor Sterling K. Brown of NBC's "This is Us" and a peek behind the curtain with the world-class innovators at The Cleveland Orchestra. A reading and reception with Ohio Poet Laureate Dave Lucas and talk by American comic strip creator and graphic novelist Tom Batiuk round out the fall schedule.
All events are free and open to the public, but tickets are required.
The Summit focuses on the challenges facing classical music and symphony orchestras in the 21st century and innovations that The Cleveland Orchestra (TCO) has implemented to reinvent and reimagine the orchestra experience. A collaboration between the BW Conservatory of Music, Center for Innovation & Growth (CIG), Arts Management & Entrepreneurship Program and The Cleveland Orchestra, this fourth annual summit kicks off BW's year-long residency with TCO.

Dave Lucas is on a mission to "expand the definition of poetry and help people see poetry in everyday life ... to celebrate poetry as we encounter it in song lyrics, and conversations and metaphors and slang and jokes, and all of the ways in which we use language that are not purely functional." Poetry reading with reception to follow in the Treuhaft Lounge.
