YJ4L pride and support made this year's "Empower Tomorrow" BW Gives campaign a success.
Together, 697 members of the YJ4L community donated $230,824.78 to BW. Combined with generous matching gifts, a total of $461,649.56 was raised during BW Gives in support of the university's commitment to an extraordinary student experience.
The annual 24-hour fundraising event, which began March 21, rallied the BW community together in support of helping students.
"We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the BW community — alumni, trustees, friends, foundations, faculty, staff, and current students and their families," said John Bauer, director of the Fund for BW.
"Each gift helps support financial aid to deserving students and important initiatives for student success. The need for financial aid is growing exponentially among college students and their families. 'Empower Tomorrow' is a call to action that provides the much-needed assistance individuals may need to begin or continue their college education and career dreams," emphasized Bauer.
"Whether you are an alumnus who is giving back to BW in appreciation for the many ways the community has benefited you or are a family member of a current student who is paying it forward to the next generation, your gift is an invaluable reflection of what it means to be a Yellow Jacket for Life," noted Bauer.
BW continues to welcome donor gifts. If you already made a gift to BW Gives, thank you for your generosity. If you have not yet had time to donate, please make a gift today at www.bw.edu/donate.
