"Troubling Voices in Bach's Sublime St. John Passion"

Presented by Dr. Michael Marissen, Professor Emeritus of Music, Swarthmore College, Visiting Professor, Graduate Faculties, Princeton University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

In this informal lecture with musical illustrations, Marissen will explore questions of anti-Jewish rhetoric in the Gospel of John and in Johann Sebastian Bach's musical settings of Martin Luther's German translation of the Gospel.

Event is free and open to the public.
No entrance ticket required.
