Church Music Emphasis

Overview

The Baldwin Wallace keyboard program offers the church music emphasis to keyboard students (and other students who receive instructor permission) who are interested in pursuing church music as one of their career options. The emphasis program is designed to provide a pathway for musicians who want to seek opportunities to work in religious/faith-based settings as organists, music directors, cantors, conductors and more.


Career Opportunities

The program offers opportunities for skill growth in a variety of areas to support the church musician. Students will gain experience and repertoire necessary for preparing for the career and workload of a church musician.

Student Experience

Students will gain practical experiences in hymn playing, improvisation, and leadership skills required in the field of church music as seen through the lens of historical, cultural, and denominational context.
