Heidi Thoenen is an associate professor of English. She currently teaches workshop in exposition and argument, and college composition. In addition to teaching, she works with students in BW’s writing lab. She has been teaching at Baldwin Wallace since August of 2015.
Thoenen’s research interests include composition theory, philosophy, gothic literature and student perceptions of instructor feedback. She has presented at the Conference on Composition and Communication and the Two-Year College Association Midwest Conference.
Her teaching experience began at the University of Akron, where she taught freshmen writing courses. She has also taught language fundamentals, college composition, and intensive reading and writing at Cuyahoga Community College.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in secondary education and a Master of Arts in English from the University of Akron.
