Richard Pokrywka (trumpet private lesson teacher), a native of North Olmsted, holds degrees in trumpet performance from Baldwin Wallace University (BM ‘97) and the University of Georgia (MM ‘99), and is currently a doctoral candidate in trumpet at The Ohio State University. He began private studio teaching as a student of James Darling at BW, and since, has enjoyed assisting students of all levels in achieving their individual musical goals. Performance credits include the Macon (GA), Athens (GA), Ashland, Mansfield, Wooster and Canton Symphonies, Cleveland Piano Competition finals orchestra, Cleveland Chamber Symphony, The Ohio State University Faculty Chamber Orchestra and Faculty Brass Quintet, Baldwin-Wallace FOCUS Festival, Spoleto Festival USA, Keith Brion’s New Sousa Band, the 1999 Brass Quintet Competition of the Americas, and Playhouse Square's production of Finian's Rainbow. Rich resides in Sheffield Lake with his wife Mary and sons Richie and Joey.
