Dr. Andrew Mitchell is a lecturer of trombone in the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Performing Arts. He is an accomplished soloist, clinician and orchestral musician, performing throughout the U.S. and Europe.
He is a member of Spectrum Brass and the Canton Symphony Orchestra, with performances including The Cleveland Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony, Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings, and the Detroit Opera Orchestra, among others.
He has held positions with the Sinfonia Gulf Coast, Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Midland Symphony Orchestra. Mitchell has appeared as a soloist and clinician at notable events such as the Big 12 Trombone Conference and the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in the Czech Republic.
He is an artist-in-residence at the Bay View Music Festival and serves as associate professor of trombone at Youngstown State University. His students have won international solo competitions and hold positions in professional orchestras and military bands.
