David Jelen (percussion private lesson teacher) has taught percussion in the BW Conservatory Outreach Department for over 20 years. His students develop good fundamental skills while maintaining their enjoyment of making music. He teaches all ages and skill levels.
Jelen holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baldwin Wallace University and a Master of Computer Information Systems degree from Cleveland State University. He is the percussion assistant to the director for the BW Conservatory Outreach Senior Youth Orchestra and percussion assistant for the Valley Forge High School Marching Band in Parma, OH.
A freelance musician, Jelen has performed with a number of groups including the Parma Symphony Orchestra, Lakeland Civic Chorus, Lakeland Civic Band and Lakeland Civic Orchestra. He was also a church choir director for 23 years. He has composed and arranged music that has been performed by musicians of all ages. He is currently playing bass guitar with Orchard Park.
