Charita N. Gadson, M.A., CCC-SLP is an associate professor for the communication sciences and disorders department. Gadson began in the department as an adjunct faculty member and transitioned into her full-time faculty position with years of clinical experience working with children and adults in specialized school, private practice and healthcare settings.
Gadson has also served in a leadership role at an academic medical center. Her primary areas of interest include neurogenic speech, swallow and communication disorders, cognitive communication disorders as well as fluency disorders.
She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed by the Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and the California Speech-Language Pathology Board. In addition to her clinical supervision, which includes individual and group speech therapy services for persons with Parkinson’s Disease, Gadson is also a member of a diversity advisory group within the communication sciences and disorders department and teaches a variety of courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
