Message from BW's VP for Student Affairs

Timeka RashidGreetings Future Yellow Jackets!

As the Vice President for Student Affairs at BW, I have the esteemed pleasure of leading the BW student experience outside of the classroom – also known as the co-curricular experience. BW Student Affairs serves as the core of your experience, working to create inclusive initiatives designed to cultivate your sense of belonging as you connect, engage, and grow at Baldwin Wallace.

When you arrive on campus as a first-year student, opportunities to connect come in many ways, including Week of Welcome (WOW) and First-Year Experience (FYE). Student leaders serve as your engagement guides in roles such as peer leaders, orientation leaders and resident assistants.

Throughout your time at BW, we hope you’ll engage through clubs and organizations, campus events, explore volunteer opportunities and build your connection with other Yellow Jackets through a variety of student life opportunities.

Finally, Student Affairs is here to ensure you grow as an individual – by the time you walk across the stage at commencement, we guarantee you will have grown as a person with a greater appreciation for diversity, increased leadership competency and awareness of self.

Our goal is simple – we want you to find YOUR purpose, whether it’s through an academic student organization, a fraternity or sorority, attending athletic events, serving others or participating in a recreation class. By the time you graduate, our aim is to help you become a holistic leader in your chosen field, bringing you one step closer to where you want to be in life.

The student life area of BW’s website serves as just one of many resources to provide you and your family with information to help navigate and build your journey here at BW.

Again, we’re happy to welcome you to our Yellow Jacket family – let us know how Student Affairs can help you! Contact the Division of Student Affairs at (440) 826-2111 or studentaffairs@bw.edu and follow us on Instagram.

Sincerely,

Timeka L. Thomas Rashid, Ph.D.
