Tricia Melton Upward Bound Scholarship
The Tricia Melton Upward Bound Students Scholarship was established to honor her memory and support future Upward Bound students who pursue postsecondary education at BW.
It has been a year since the passing of Patricia "Tricia" Melton '87, '04 MAEd, and yet this anniversary marks only the beginning of her wonderful legacy. Make a gift to the Tricia Melton Upward Bound Students Scholarship as we remember and honor all of her contributions in life and work.
Following her passing on November 8, 2020, family and friends created a scholarship to honor Tricia's life. Tricia thoroughly loved her time as a BW student, and because of that experience, she devoted her career to serving BW through the TRIO Upward Bound Program. She was a teacher, mom, friend and mentor to countless Cleveland Metropolitan School District students during her tenure with the program housed on the BW campus.
Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income, first generation families, with the goal of increasing their access to and success in postsecondary education programs. Tricia had confidence that any student could succeed and achieve their goals if given the right opportunities and encouragement.
The Tricia Melton Upward Bound Students Scholarship was established to honor her memory and to support future Upward Bound students who pursue postsecondary education at Baldwin Wallace University. Your gift will help us keep Tricia's legacy alive by providing much needed support and encouragement to Upward Bound students who enroll at BW.
