BW’s comprehensive curriculum combines coursework in core business principles with advanced analytics. Students study statistical analysis, data mining, data visualization and predictive modeling and develop a deep understanding of business operations, strategy and ethics.

CURRICULUM
The business analytics major combines a foundation in core business disciplines like finance, marketing and management with advanced analytics coursework.
Students delve into data analysis techniques through courses like data systems, visualizing data for business analytics and intermediate statistical methods. Electives like applied machine learning, decision models and analytics and predictive analytics equip students with the tools to solve real-world business problems using data.
A capstone course offers an immersive business simulation where students face a complex scenario in which business acumen is tested and improved through modeling, analysis and strategic planning. Students gain firsthand experience in areas of operations management, financial analysis, marketing, team-building and critical thinking.

Option to Add MBA
Students in the undergraduate business analytics major have the option to pursue a streamlined BW MBA program that allows them to take graduate-level courses in their senior year. Students graduate in five years with both a Bachelor of Science in business analytics degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
STUDENT EXPERIENCES
Small class sizes, individual attention and faculty mentoring are at the core of BW’s business analytics major. The program is taught by experienced faculty using industry-standard tools, including 14 Bloomberg terminals – giving students full access to the same data and technology used by business professionals.
Students also benefit from hands-on learning through coursework, internships, independent study, and faculty-mentored consulting and research projects.
Choose Ohio First STEM Scholars Program
The BW Choose Ohio First STEM Scholars Program is open to Ohio residents who are entering Baldwin Wallace in the fall as a first-year student or transfer student and are interested in business analytics. Students are eligible to apply to the program which also offers the Choose Ohio First scholarship, awarding substantial annual, renewable scholarships.
Student Organizations
Investment Club
Students experience real life investing by managing a $1.3 million portfolio of real stocks. The students make decisions based on their own research of equity securities. Members have attended a shareholders meeting, visited the New York Stock Exchange and competed with other colleges in academic competitions.
