What is your favorite quote?

“I believe in God like I believe in the sun—not because I can see it, but because by it, all things are seen." - C.S. Lewis

What was your biggest mistake as a first year student? What did you learn from that experience?

My biggest mistake as a first year student was that I was not extremely invested in Baldwin Wallace. I had been over-involved to the point of burnout in high school and therefore held back a little too much during my first year at BW. That experience taught me a lot about balance, transitions, challenging myself and acclimating during transitions.

How did you choose your major?

I knew I wanted to be religious studies and English double major because I figured both majors would aid me in my understanding of life and relationships which would prepare me to better engage and support my future students.

What has been you best experience at BW so far?

My best experiences at BW so far have definitely been connected to various opportunities to travel that BW provides. I have been on two alternative spring break trips that have changed my outlook on life and my goals. I would definitely recommend such a trip to an incoming student.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is a tie between Lang Dining Hall and the Cyber Café. I really like both because they are great places to study, eat, socialize, and people-watch all at once.

What movie star would play the role of you in a movie? Why?

If there was a movie about my life, I suppose I’d like Tom Hanks to play me. Even though he is a man and therefore could not accurately depict me, he is my favorite actor. If I had to pick a woman, I’d pick Meryl Streep. She is pretty flexible as an actress and usually does not disappoint.

What was the best advice given to you by your parents or family members during your first year?

The best advice given to me as an incoming student was about studying abroad. My cousin told me that I should go for it even if I was a little unsure about the expenses because it is a once in a lifetime experience that will never be this financially feasible again. She also told me about scholarships and how much they can help you out. I followed her advice! I am going to study in Italy next semester.

Final Word:

I want the first year students to GET INVOLVED. There is something for everyone on campus and if you cannot find something for you, you can create something new.
