What is your favorite quote?

"Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game"

What was your biggest mistake as a first year student? What did you learn from that experience?

The biggest mistake I made during my first year was learning how to prioritize my time. I had to learn how to choose what was the most important task to do each day and what I had to pass up. Baldwin Wallace gave me the opportunity to be busy 24/7 and I had to learn what needed to be done first. This taught me great time management skills!

How did you choose your major?

I chose my major after following in the footsteps of my older brother Mark who had Muscular Dystrophy. My older brother passed away two weeks before he was to begin college, where he was majoring to be a Special Education teacher. Today I am also majoring in Special Education with a minor in psychology because I want to impact students' lives as much as he impacted mine.

What has been you best experience at BW so far?

My best experience at Baldwin Wallace has been the ability to become engaged in a variety of different activities. When I came to college I was told that I was going to have to pick and choose between activities in which I wanted to participate. Coming to Baldwin Wallace has given me the opportunity to join every organization that I have wanted to and play a Division III sport.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is the sea of picnic tables outside of the Union on the west lawn. This area, when the weather is nice, is filled with students and there is always someone to talk to.

What movie star would play the role of you in a movie? Why?

Julie Andrews would play the role of me in a movie. I chose Julie Andrews to play my role because she can break out in song at any moment in time and she has already played the role of a queen in a previous movie.

What was the best advice given to you by your parents or family members during your first year?

The best piece of advice that was given to me in my first year of college was from my mother. My mother would always tell me, "You can sleep when you are dead!". When saying this, she meant that I should become involved in whatever I could and to not miss out on something just because I was tired!

Final Word:

Don't be afraid to make a new friend, a new start, or to be who you want to be. These next four years are going to go by in a blink of the eye, so make mistakes and learn from those mistakes! Also, go to class because you pay a lot to go here! YJ4L.
