Area Coordinators

The Area Coordinator is a full-time professional staff member for the Office of Residence Life, within the Division of Student Affairs, and reports to the Assistant Director of Residence Life.  The Area Coordinator is responsible for a residential area of approximately 800 students, supervision of 4 graduate Hall Directors and 30-35 Resident Assistants, coordination of staff development and training, staff recruitment, residence hall governance, and programming.

Todd Heft

Area Coordinator for South Campus and Apartments

Todd has been at BW since June 2006. Originally from the Detroit area, Todd earned both his B.S. (2000 - Interpersonal Communication) and M.A. (2003 - Counseling/College Student Development) from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI. After receiving his M.A., Todd worked as a Hall Director at Ferris State University for three years, moving to Berea in 2006 to assume his current position. Todd is a proud inductee of the Eagle Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary. Todd has served on the executive boards of the Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing Officers, the Northeast Ohio Housing Officers and the Ohio College Personnel Association. Todd continues to work with students in the college setting due to the vast opportunity to help young adults learn more about themselves and the world.  In his spare time, he enjoys camping, reading, watching movies, and is a Star Wars fanatic!!! However, most of his time outside of work is spent with his wife and two-year old son.


Dan Cline

Area Coordinator for North and West Campus

Originally a native of Rhode Island, Dan earned his Bachelor of Arts in History (2007), and his Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in College Student Personnel (2009) from the University of Rhode Island. During his graduate experience, Dan held various internship/assistantship positions in Housing and Residential Life, Academic Advising, and Student Conduct administration. In these positions he has worked with institutions such as the University of Rhode Island, Connecticut College, and Brown University. Dan joins the BW community from Elizabethtown College (PA), where he spent two and one-half years as an Area Coordinator in the Office of Residence Life. Dan’s passion and drive for working with college students stems from the desire to educate students outside of the classroom, and promote individual growth and success. He believes that college is about learning who you are as a person, and who/what you want to become.  Outside of work, Dan enjoys watching movies and comedy television, listening to music, going to concerts, and reading spy thrillers. Dan and his wife enjoy traveling, especially to Walt Disney World.
