Weekly Program Coordinators
What are OCO Weekly Programs?
The Office of Community Outreach has several weekly programs, each of which involves a group of students serving at a local agency for a few hours each week throughout the BW school year (except during college breaks).
Role of Weekly Program Coordinators:
We are currently seeking Weekly Program Coordinators for the following programs:
Boys and Girls Club (Thursdays, 5:00-7:00 p.m.)
In addition to recruiting BW participants, serving as a liaison with the community partner, and facilitating reflection, the Boys and Girls Club coordinator is responsible for facilitating meaningful interaction BW participants and the children at the Club. Sometimes that means helping with homework, playing games, reading stories or leading a craft project.
Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Wednesdays, 3:25-5:30 p.m.)
The CCBDD program is one that facilitates social interaction between adults with disabilities and BW students. In addition to recruiting BW participants, serving as liaison with the community partner, and facilitating reflection, the CCBDD Wed. coordinator is responsible for planning all activities for the program and using the program budget to purchase snacks and activity supplies.
West Side Catholic Center (Tuesdays, 6:00-8:30 p.m.)
Each week BW students lead fun, educational activities for children at this women and children's shelter while their moms attend group or take a much needed break. In addition to recruiting BW participants, serving as a liaison with the community partner, and facilitating reflection, the West Side Catholic Center Coordinator plans and facilitates activities for children ages 3-10 (approximately).
