Community Outreach

MLK Day of Learning

OCO celebrates the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through an annual service project.

Aiming to honor the memory of Dr. King through service to the community, the Office of Community Outreach invites fourth graders from Berea’s Grindstone Elementary School to campus to participate in educational activities based on Dr. King’s legacy and the Civil Rights Movement.  BW students, faculty, and staff serve as volunteer facilitators.

Serve as a facilitator!

Facilitators are needed for each of the activities.  Our hope is to pair BW student, faculty, and staff facilitators with student facilitators from Berea-Midpark High School.  These pairs will each work with a small group of students on the reading and art activities.  Singing is done as a whole group.

The schedule of activities is:

January 22, 2015

Strosacker College Union, Sandstone III

                Reading: 10:15-11:00 and 12:45-1:30

                Art: 11:00-11:45 and 1:30-2:15

                Singing 11:45-12:00 and 2:15-2:30
