Spring Evening Weekend Course Schedule - Health & Physical Education

HPE CORE REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED AT BW PRIOR TO 2004-2005

To satisfy the health & physical education core curriculum requirement of the College, students who entered BW prior to 2004-2005 must complete a minimum of 2 credits to be selected from HPE 121, 122, 123, 131, 132, 133, 141, 142, 143, 144. Students may select any of the activity and technique courses offered. However, no activity/technique course may be repeated for credit except at a more advanced level. Intermediate and advanced level courses may have a prerequisite. The total minimum of 2 semester credits may come from any combination of 1/2 and 1 credit hour courses. Students who have individual needs or are physically challenged may confer with the HPE faculty to discuss the selection of appropriate courses. Please note that the "W" shown beside HPE 131, 132, 133, 141, 142, 143, 144 indicates that the activity/technique course is applicable to the HPE Core.

HPE core requirements for students enrolled at BW beginning 2004-2005

To satisfy the health & physical education core curriculum requirement of the College, all students must complete a 1/2 credit computer course, HPE 110W, Personal Wellness, and complete an additional minimum of 1 and 1/2 credits from a menu of sport, fitness, recreational activity courses and/or dance technique courses from HPE 131, 132, 133, 141, 142, 143, 144 and/or from a menu of classroom course offerings in health and wellness as designated applicable to the HPE Core. No specific activity/technique course may be repeated for credit except at a more advanced level. Intermediate and advanced level courses may have a prerequisite. Upper level classroom courses in health and wellness that are applicable to the HPE Core may also have a prerequisite. Students who have individual needs or are physically challenged may confer with the HPE faculty to discuss the selection of appropriate courses. All courses designated by a "W" beside the course number are applicable to the HPE Core for those students who entered BW beginning in 2004-2005.

Core Academic Skill: Problem Solving Note: Computer course will focus on various aspects of personal wellness. Activities include but are not limited to health assessment appraisals, review of articles, and online quizzes.
Procedures and schedule for this online course will be reviewed and information packet will be distributed at first class meeting. In-class meeting times will be minimal due to nature of an online computer course. Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Course graded S/U.
