Exploration of the interrelations between Asian philosophy and music. We will examine music as an art form that expresses the ideas of Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. We will read philosophical texts and listen to and evaluate musical selections. Course format includes class discussion, concert attendance, and various field experience assignments. May be taken for Philosophy core or Music in the Liberal Arts but not both. (See PHL 199I.S01)
