The Office of Commuter Services Staff

Jay T. Hairston is the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of ACES and Commuter Services. His office is located within the Student Affairs office at 110 Bonds. He is responsible for several major programming initiatives including ACES and the World Music Series, co-sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council. Jay T. has served on several Ohio Arts Council panels and is also a gospel recording artist and workshop clinician as well as a diversity consultant.

Veronica Drdek serves as the ACES/OCS Administrative Assistant.  In addition to ACES and OCS, Veronica works with Campus Diversity Affairs and assists the Dean of Students in the Office of Student Affairs.  She is a lifelong resident of northeast Ohio, having grown up in Brook Park, and now living in Berea.  She enjoys discovering and visiting cities and towns in Ohio on "one tank trips" as well as sailing the waters of Lake Erie off Vermilion.  She is a singer (you might catch her at karaoke some night!) and pianist and also is an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan.  When not working or playing, she likes to relax with family and friends.

Lauren Ryan serves as the Graduate Intern in the Office of Commuter Services and is the Advisor of the Commuter Activities Board (CAB). She recently graduated from Allegheny College with a major in English and minor in Black Studies. She also served as the Hall Director for the Fall Urban Semester Program coordinated and sponsored by the Office of Community Outreach at BW. Lauren is also a committed member of the Pentecostal Church of Christ in Cleveland, and serves on the program and activities committee for the Youth department. She enjoys service work, spending quality time with her family and playing intramural basketball at BW.
