BW Women’s Tennis Team Falls to Tiffin, 7-2, in Non-Conference Play

women’s tennis lost to NCAA Division II Tiffin University, 7-2, today (Thursday, April 12, 2012) at the “Pop” Collins Tennis Courts in Berea.
With its loss, BW is now 7-11 overall. Tiffin improved to 13-11 overall.
Tiffin gained an early 3-0 lead after the doubles competition and won four of the six singles matches to capture its thirteenth victory.
In singles play, junior No. 2 player Rebecca Mittler (Elyria/Elyria Catholic) won her match by the scores of 6-2, 6-1, and sophomore No. 3 player Morgan Baker (Vermillion/Elyria Catholic) won her match by the scores of 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 1-0 (10-4).
With her singles victory, Mittler is now 19th all time with a career singles record of 41-32.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, April 17 when they host Ohio Athletic Conference rival Heidelberg University at the Collins Courts at 3:30 p.m. BW enters that match 2-2 in OAC play.
