The 23rd-ranked Baldwin Wallace University Men's Soccer Team Shuts Out Marietta College 2-0
With its victory, the Yellow Jackets improve to 12-1-1 overall and 4-1 in the OAC. With its loss, Marietta falls to 2-11 overall and 10-5 in the OAC.
The Yellow Jackets took a 1-0 advantage at the 41:24 mark when junior forward Brian Sugerman (Akron/Richfield Revere) found the left corner of the goal from six yards out.
In the second half, BW would increase its lead to 2-0 when junior two-time All-OAC defender Todd Alexander (Hudson) tallied his sixth goal of the seaon on a penalty kick at the 61:32 mark.
In goal, sophomore keeper Alex Stavros (Fairlawn/ Copley) played a solid game and earned his eighth career shutout as he faced six Marietta shots and made six saves.
The Yellow Jacket men will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 18 when they host Otterbein College at 7:00 p.m. at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea.
