Paul T. Ernst '78
Paul Ernst was a health and physical education major at Baldwin Wallace and a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Also an active athlete, he played football and baseball for four years, earning three letters in both sports. It was in football however, that he was particularly successful.
He was named All-OAC for two years. In 1977 he was an OAC first-team running back and ranked fourth overall in the conference in total offense. During his senior season, he was the captain of the football team and was recognized with the Cleveland Touchdown Club Player of the Year Award, Frank Ropollo Award and the Coca Cola Golden Helmet Award. He also received the Senior Athlete of the Year Award from BW.
After his graduation from Baldwin Wallace, Paul began teaching and has taught and coached for 25 years. In 1986 he added a master's degree in learning disabled/brain disorder education from Cleveland State University to his credentials. He has coached football and baseball and currently is the girls' basketball coach at Cleveland Heights High School where he also teaches. He also is the advisor to the Key Club.
