Ted Johnson ’69 was one of the best basketball players to ever wear the Brown & Gold of Baldwin Wallace University.
Johnson ranks in the top 10 on the all-time BW scoring list with 1,652 points and is the school’s all-time single-season rebounding leader with 400 (14.8 rebounds per game) in 1968-69. He served as the Yellow Jackets’ co-captain and was honored as an All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection and the team’s Most Valuable Player. He also ran two seasons of track at the College.
In addition, Johnson was the President of the United Student Action Organization and a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha and Omicron Delta Kappa honor fraternities.
After graduation, Johnson was drafted by the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Cincinnati Royals. He later went on to become a development specialist in Denver, Colorado.
