Frank "Digger" Dawson

BW Class of 1956 | Induction Class of 2007

Frank “Digger” Dawson '56 was, and continues to be, an ardent supporter of athletics. A well-rounded student, he was the football manager and athletic trainer as well as the sports editor for the Exponent. He was the senior class president, active in student government and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Upon returning to his hometown of East Liverpool, he was influential in raising funds to improve the high school athletic field and founded the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association. He also founded and was president of the Lou Holtz/Upper Ohio Valley Hall of Fame. His civic activities and honors are far too numerous to mention. At BW, alone, he received an Alumni Merit Award and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters and was a trustee for many years.
