Clayton Dusek - Education
Division of Education
BS in Education from The Ohio State University
MED in Principalship from Wright State University
PhD in Educational Leadership from The Ohio State Univ.
I have been teaching at B-W as an adjunct and full time for the last sixteen years, nine years full-time.
I served three years as an officer in The United States Navy and twenty-five years in Ohio public education as a teacher, principal and school district superintendent.
What have you learned while teaching at B-W?:
While teaching at B-W, I have been reminded that the most important
and meaningful relationship in education is that interaction between teacher and student. I have enjoyed my entire career in education, but this part is the greatest!
What inspired you to get into college teaching?:
When I retired from public education, I wanted to return to the classroom to help prepare the generation of teachers and educational leaders that would work with my grandchildren.
Describe the ways in which you mentor students interested in your department:
My office door is always open and I put my home phone number on every syllabus. I try to be readily accessible to any student who needs help and/or advise.
If you weren't teaching what would you be doing?:
There is nothing I would rather do then teach!
What do students like best about your class?:
I think students like me as a person and the fact that I relate theory to practice. I try to make my classes interesting, valuable and fun.
