Diverse Learning Experiences

During my time at Baldwin Wallace, I have been able to receive a well-rounded education. This is mostly due to the fact that the university requires its students to partake in a wide range of “core” courses; BW is a liberal arts school. When I first enrolled at the school (three years ago) I had no idea that I would experience the numerous styles of learning that I have participated in. One of the courses that I am currently enrolled in, REL-271I, is a class that I would have never pictured myself taking, just a few years ago. The class is an international studies course that relates to the issues of religion and violence/peace, and how they play a role in today’s society. The class is very interesting and incorporates a great deal of open-ended discussions. The professor is very enthusiastic and does a great job of keeping everyone involved. This semester is already a fourth of the way over and I can say that I have learned so much in this course. Going into it, I did not know very much about this topic and how it connects to the world; however, because of the class readings and assignments I am already gathering a great deal of knowledge in regards to the religious aspects of the world. I am glad that I came to BW because it provided me with the opportunity to earn a degree that incorporated a variety of coursework. Without the liberal arts aspect, I would not be the student I am today. To look at some of the courses Baldwin Wallace offers. Well, I have to go write my first paper for my religion course so that’s all for now.
