As the month of October progresses closer and closer to the holiday that every kid dreams about from November 1st to October 30th, I am starting to notice little Halloween decorations cropping up around campus. Everyone seems to be getting in to the Halloween spirit. We had a door-decorating contest on my floor in North Hall and I got to paint a pumpkin. It was great! I’m in the Halloween spirit more this year than I ever have. I’ve never really gotten into the whole dressing up and being scary thing, but this year I think I might have to try it out.
The coolest decoration display that I have seen around campus is right underneath my favorite tree in North Quad. There’s a fake graveyard that symbolizes victims of drunk driving. It is part of the Dead Day campaign where people volunteer to be silent for one day to symbolize a person who died as a result of drunk driving. It’s a really cool way to incorporate awareness of the threat of drunk driving and Halloween decorations. I love BW at Halloween!!!
