Berea is Going Through a Siberia Phase

I am from Fairbanks, Alaska and I take pride in that. I am proud that I have experienced temperatures below -40 degrees. I am proud that I have survived a bear attack (actually, that’s a lie. I have only seen a bear from 10 feet away. I just pretend that I was attacked by it because saying the stretch marks on my back are the result of a bear mauling is bad ass). I am proud that I live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. However, nothing about living in Alaska has prepared me for the wind chill in Ohio. The weather here may be above zero degrees, but the wind chill bites through a down jacket as if you were wearing a cotton t-shirt.

Walking to class is miserable. Everyone is bundled up with scarves, hats, gloves, long johns, and hand warmers. President Helmer gave free hot chocolate on Wednesday to students. It was handed out in the cyber café and everyone came together on a cold day for something warm. President Helmer really cares about the comfort of the students.
