When You Are Sick

Words cannot even begin to describe what it is like when you are sick at college. Your friends avoid you because they don't want to catch your contagion, you try to muster up enough strength to crawl to class and once there try to limit your sniffling and coughing to every ten minutes because everyone glares at you. Also, I don't care who you are: art major, football player, or science brain nurse person, you will be reduced to a moaning baby. You will want your mother. You will want to go home. You will curse your existence. Better yet, if you're in a dorm your room will physically feel sick. The dorms are like incubators. I'm just stating the truth. It's pretty bad. Why am I horrifying you with this stunningly accurate portrayal? Because I got sick on Friday. It may have been food poisoning. One cannot say, only that I beat a well worn path from my room to the bathroom. An upside was that it was on the Friday before spring break so I didn't have to worry about missing classes and getting behind on work, which stinks.

However, it was the Friday before spring break... Thank you universe.

So anyway, when you DO get sick or begin to feel sick, go to the health center! They will give you medicine and help! Frankly, I don't think enough people take advantage of the health center. True, sometimes they misdiagnose and everyone jokes about it. But amoxicillin can pretty much clear up anything I've learned. They also have flu shots available when flu season is abroad. Yay!

Moral of the blog: stay healthy! Eat right! Etc!
