From my first twenty four hours on campus which included me tearing my ACL, to the most recent twenty four hours on campus, finalizing into a decision of not playing football anymore; there has been many life changing decisions and events that really has shaped me into being the person I am today. I was proud of my high school years, because I felt that that had really shaped me into the person that I was coming into college. Many can tell you that I made much improvement from the transfer of middle school to high school and from high school to college. But I feel it is more worthwhile when you feel this change in yourself.
I was well in love with the person I was coming from high school. Now in college, I am out on my own and all of my decisions are in the hands of me. With this, I know that the decisions I make not only affect me, but my future, my college career, and my family. We all face severe trials and tribulations, but I never knew how hard it would be without family to fall back on. But I’ve made decisions for the better that isn’t what I’m proud of, but it was for the better. This includes not playing football, reevaluating friends for the better, learning from mistakes, moving on from a romantic break-up, and overcoming negative peer-pressure.
Throughout my experiences, Baldwin Wallace University has molded me into well balanced young man. It really means a lot when there are others who realize this also. I was given the opportunity to attend a summer camp at Clemson University this summer, I received the honor to eat with presidential candidates, I am a student tour guide, etc. I am happy of the person BW has helped me become, and know that this is places that will always, and continue to have a positive impact on me. Will you allow it to do the same?
