What characteristics distinguish BW from other colleges/universities?

Definitely the friendly atmosphere!

How do you mentor students?

I mentor students as an academic advisor and as a teacher. I listen and guide. Typically, students know the answers but they need a little reassurance and direction. I take great pride in introducing students to the many aspects of public relations. I assist them in finding the right area of public relations for internships and employment.

What do students like best about your class?

Students appreciate the real-world experiences that I bring to class. I combine my professional experience, textbook teachings and current events to help students understand the importance of public relations in today's society. My classes also offer practical project experiences with professional clients. Students develop networking skills and portfolio materials to assist them in their job searches.

If you weren't teaching what would you be doing?

I would be working as a public relations professional in a health-related or non-profit organization.
