Goodbye Teenage Angst

I turned 20 on Thursday October, 17th. My boyfriend was still here so that was nice, although his flight back to NYC left at about 9:00 that evening.  That made me a little sad.  Before he left, he helped arrange for a little surprise get together at the house of some music theatre friends and one of the friends even made me a cake. It was also nice that my birthday evening was the start of the much anticipated fall break. It was a good birthday but I was a bit distracted by mentally preparing for another looming trip I will be taking this weekend, the third weekend in a row.  I have so much to do to prep for this trip that I don’t know where to begin.  Perhaps I shall start with the massive pile of laundry!  Truthfully, I don’t think my bag is unpacked from the wedding last weekend.  Shame!

I have to stay here on campus for most of fall break to prep for a career related trip to NYC. I'll be gone most of next week. I will be leaving on a bus that runs from Cleveland to China Town, NY, nightly.  I have taken this bus twice before in the last few months.  It leaves Cleveland around 11:00pm and arrives in NYC at around 7:00am the next morning. It's not fun, but it's cheap. My mom and grandma came to see me and bring me some birthday love on Friday afternoon and stayed most of the day. We did some things on campus then had a nice lunch at Tree Huggers Café. YUM!  One of my birthday gifts was a cute, little, yellow, Keurig coffee maker, which I named Kevin, and a drawer full of Kcups.  My grandma gave me a beautiful dress and some money to help with my travel expenses. The dress is definitely going to New York with me and I am sure I will put the coffee to good use, on return, when I am making up all the work I will miss next week while I’m in New York.  I may have to stay most of the week depending on how things go.  This fact is making me worry but sometimes you just have to chase your dreams. So, off I go!
