I had a fun weekend doing a few things near campus that were not related to my MT major for a change. We all need a break at times. As much as I adore my major with all of my heart, I am not the, totally Broadway obsessed music theatre major type. I have many interests. I was a ballerina growing up but I also liked sports and other non-theatre and dance related activities. A favorite of mine since living on the BW campus is to get cheap tickets to see the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers play ball.
This past weekend was the was the first weekend in a long while with no, all day Saturday, masterclass or performance/rehearsals of any kind...much needed! Friday night some close Baldwin Wallace friends and I went bowling at Mahall's 20 Lanes in Lakewood. One of the things I love about the quaint little city of Berea Ohio, where BWU’s campus is nestled, is that it is literally no more than 20 minutes from a million fun things to do on the weekend. Mahall's is the best, because they have old school bowling lanes, a hip bar, and live music every weekend. I've even seen some BW professors gig there (sorry can't name drop). I like to head out to Lakewood whenever I can since the young nightlife is so great. Weirdly enough, I even ended up winning bowling, with a couple “celebrity” bowls from friends. It was an awesome night away from the grind which I encourage everyone to indulge in at least once in a while! All work and no play…..well, you know the rest.
