Biography
Between classes, being involved in my fraternity (Sigma Phi Epsilon), producing/shooting/editing videos for BuzzTV as well as being its president for 2.5 years, working for the Cleveland International film festival, and co-creating 2 Clubs on campus I kept myself busy my 4 years of college.
The clubs I created were the "BW Film Society," and "The BW International Film Series."
BW Film Society was a club where students got together to discuss and watch movies. And for "The BW International Film Series" we organized the screening of 19 award winning foreign films on campus.
After graduation I moved to Chicago where I lived for a little less than a year, working for a commercial production company called Optimus.
In June 2011 I moved to Los Angeles where I am living with 3 other BW alumni (Alex Sherman, Joel Murray, and Loee McNiel) and attempting to pursue a career in Film and TV production. And 2 weeks in I have already worked with filmmaker/podcaster Kevin Smith.
Questions and answers
What is your favorite thing about BW?
The friends I made.
What advice would you give to prospective students?
Do as many internships as possible, even if you are not required to do them for your major. Between my sophomore and junior year, as well as between my junior and senior years I did internships in New York City. I was not required to for my major, but I did them for the experience. Having that experience on your resume before you graduate helps a lot, and you can learn a lot from an internship. Also make sure you take Techniques of Relaxation!!
What would you have changed about your undergraduate experience?
I would have been more conscious about how crazy fast it goes and therefore made sure I did not waste a single moment of it.
