Upon graduation from BW Grippi spent two years at the University of New Mexico completing a M.S. in Sport Administration.
Grippi has competed in several national tournaments at the collegiate club and USAV levels and continues to participate in tournaments in the Ohio Valley Region (OVR).
What I like best about BW: Students not only receive an excellent education, but they have hundreds of opportunities for internships each academic year in the Greater Cleveland area. Students can easily take advantage of the Fortune 500 companies in the area or relax in the Cleveland Metroparks System within walking distance of campus. We have some of the most well-rounded, and respectful students in the country. I also love the diversity of interest that includes but is not limited to musicians, student-athletes, community service volunteers, student government leaders, artists and some of the most talented musical theatre students in the entire country (we have numerous students performing on Broadway).
What I like best about our Men’s Club team: The ability to have an awesome time each weekend we travel and each week in practice, but still maintaining the focus to play hard and be successful.
Most memorable club volleyball experience: 1.) Our 3rd place finish at the 2008 NIRSA National Championship in 2008! 2.) BW’s Top 10 finish at the 2006 NIRSA National Tournament. It is the best finish in the history of the club and we hope to make it a tradition. 3.) The trip to Loyola in 2003. We finished 2nd in the tournament losing to the top ranked team in the country in the finals. We also all had an opportunity to experience Chicago. 4.) The 16 hour ride to Kansas City, MO for the 2005 NIRSA National Tournament…I have never watched so many episodes of the OC. 5.) As a player it was definitely the 1997 NIRSA National Tounament at the University of Arizona.
Hobbies: Golf, Tennis, Basketball, Flag Football and any other sport. Playing with my two collies, they are the greatest dogs in the world. The house and yard work that never seems to end. I must admit I have fallen into the world of online poker too.
Goals and Future Aspirations: Continue to build a nationally competitive club team at BW and become one of the youngest Athletic Directors in NCAA Division III Intercollegiate Athletics. Possibly pursue my Ph.D. in Sport Administration.
Recommendation to future students: Follow your dreams and let nothing hold you back!
