Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

 

ABSN Science Prerequisites

The Accelerated BSN Program welcomes students with degrees in any area, however students must have met specific science prerequisites to enroll in the nursing curriculum.

Students may satisfy the science prerequisites through any of these options:

  • Previous college/university course work in anatomy, physiology and microbiology, with a minimum 2.75 aggregate GPA in these courses, and with no grade in any of the science prerequisites lower than "C".
  • Completion of Baldwin Wallace science-intensive coursework (detailed below).
  • For candidates who have taken courses more than 10 years ago, or who have extensive career-related experience in these subject areas, demonstrated competency via an equivalency exam administered by the ABSN Program.  If you are opting to take the equivalency exam, you should contact the Nursing Program to make arrangements.  
     

Summer 2013 - BW Science-Intensive Coursework

The BW science-intensive coursework for the ABSN program is being offered this Summer term, beginning in May and ending in mid-July.  Students must earn a minimum 2.75 aggregate GPA in these courses, with no grade in any of the science prerequisites lower than "C".

Tuition for these courses is set at the regular Summer 2013 tuition rate of $597 per credit hour.

BIO 203L  Anatomy and Physiology I    4 credits

BIO 204L  Anatomy and Physiology II    3 credits

BIO 212   Microbiology    4 credits
