International Studies (National Security Track), Political Science and Sustainability Major

BW Honors Program Participant

Hometown: Strongsville, Ohio

What is your career goal upon graduation?
I am interested in graduate school for environmental studies as well as service through the Peace Corps, Teach for America, International Design Summit, or the Sea Shepard Conservation Society.

How have the professors in your three majors contributed to your success?

  • Since coming to BW, I've completed four internships under the guidance of sustainability professor Dr. David Krueger. I was the course assistant for his Green Business class. This experience gave me a wealth of experience working with students, researching solar panels and working in teams.

  • The international studies and political science departments host meetings about law school, career paths and pursuing graduate education. My faculty mentors in these areas talk to me about which classes to take, which internships to pursue and how to obtain my career goals.

How has the Honors Program helped you grow as a person?
I have met many great friends through the program. I have been exposed to new courses, service-learning opportunities and professional development events as well as having traveled to some really cool places.

What Honors Program opportunity was the most memorable?
I traveled to Michigan to attend the Mid-East Honors Association Conference. While there, I met new people, heard about research going on through other Honors programs, spoke about my BW Honors experience, and had a lot of fun.
