Orthopedic Assessment and Treatment Minor

 

The goal of the minor is to provide students interested in the health care field with a focused knowledge base in the area of musculoskeletal injury. The course content of the minor is ideal for students majoring in  Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Medicine, and  Exercise Science.

(Note : The Orthopedic Assessment and Treatment Minor is available to all Non-Athletic Training Majors)

Teaching Objectives and Outcomes

Students who complete the minor will acquire knowledge related to orthopedic evaluation and treatment including but not limited to body mechanics, emergency techniques, injury assessment, treatment and methodology. 

Students who complete the minor will develop psychomotor clinical evaluation skills that will complement the cognitive content.

Students who complete the minor will appreciate the team approach to injury management and understand the roles and responsibilities of each practitioner within the sports medicine team.
