Group Piano Class

Beginning piano class for children ages 5 - 7

This course is designed to encourage confidence and enthusiasm in players ages 5 - 7 who are interested in learning to play the keyboard.  The session will run for twelve weeks and classes will be 45 minutes each.  Parent participation is essential to success at this level and parents will attend most sessions.  Movement and games facilitate learning and access to our state-of-the-art keyboard lab inspires exploration and practice.

All students should have access to a piano for practice outside of class; daily practice ensures advancement in keyboard proficiency.

Hey Mr. Mozart!  Level I & II

Fall 2014 Schedule

Tuesdays beginning September 9
Level I Time: 5:30 - 6:20 pm
Level II Time: 6:30 - 7:20 pm

Location: Kulas Musical Arts Building, room 322 &  Kulas Piano Lab 320

Cost: $132 for 12 classes plus $22 for lesson books & $15 registration fee

*Admittance into Hey Mr. Mozart! Level II without participation in Level I will be considered with an interview/evaluation and dependent on enrollment

Piano Brain Rush!
Beginning piano class for children ages 8 - 10

These courses are designed for older beginners, ages 8-10.  Group games are an essential element in the learning process but the majority of class time is spent in the keyboard lab.  Students will receive training to prepare them for private lessons, including piano technique, basic reading skills, some rhythmic and harmonic principles and some exposure to jazz and playing by ear.  Practice at home is expected and parental involvement is encouraged.

 

 


Fall 2014 Schedule

Saturdays beginning September 13
Level I Time: 12:00 - 12:50pm
Level II Time: 1:00 - 1:50pm

Location: Room 304 & Piano Lab 320 in the Kulas Musical Arts Building
Cost: $132 for 12 classes plus $22 for lesson books & $15 registration fee

All students should have access to a piano for practice outside of class; daily practice ensures advancement in keyboard proficiency.

Adult Classes

I Want to Play the Piano (Level I)
Adult Group Class for beginners
Adrienne O'Leary, Instructor

Adults CAN learn to play the piano, even those who've never learned to read music before. Studies have shown that adults who actively engage in learning new things enjoy good memory health, and the more complex the activity, the better for your brain! Here's a way to have fun, learn something new, give yourself enjoyment for years to come, and it's good for you, too. Learn the important fundamentals of piano playing in a supportive environment with other adults.

Adult Piano Lab (Level II)
Prerequisite: Piano Lab level I or previous private lessons
Intermediate Adult Group Class
Adrienne O'Leary, Instructor

Adults can learn in a group setting, piano skills, music theory, and performance technique. It is a relaxed learning environment among supportive adults from various professional and career backgrounds. Studies have shown that adults who actively engage in learning new things enjoy good memory health, and the more complex the activity, the better for your brain! All students should have access to a piano for practice outside of class; daily practice ensures advancement in keyboard proficiency. Pencils are necessary at each class.

Fall Schedule 2014


Mondays
beginning September 15

Level I Time: 7:00 - 7:45 pm
Level II Time: 7:45 - 8:30 pm

Location: Piano Lab 321 in the Kulas Musical Arts Building   

Cost: $144 for 12 classes, plus $20 for lesson books and $15 registration fee

**All students should have access to a piano for practice outside of class; daily practice ensures advancement in keyboard proficiency. Pencils are necessary at each class.

  • If you have ordered tickets online for BW ticketed arts events in the past, please use the same login.

  • You will be able to add members of your family to your account in order to register them for classes and ensembles. 
  • Note that the payment amount will reflect the cost of the class, the $15 registration fee and materials fee (if applicable).
